What is happening to me?
This site is dedicated to assisting women, like me, who are going through peri-menopause, and menopause.
The different elements of this time of life came as a shock to me, since nobody told me about it.

The Change
When I was growing up all I was told that someone was “going through The Change.” When I asked what “that change” was I was quietly told “menopause” in a secret tone and then the subject was changed.
When I started my period when I was 11 I was told that this lovely time, with all the bleeding and cramping, would happen for the next 40-50 years of my life, then it would stop.
How it was presented to me made it sound like a hard stop, at 50(ish) it would simply stop and you would be in menopause.
Even during sex education classes in school the symptoms that you get before you are in actual menopause were not talked about. I believe now it is because the research was not done and therefor didn’t know how to discuss it.
Why my female relatives never mentioned what can happen, before the “taps turn off” is beyond me.
This lack of information is why I started this site. I want to share the resources I have found with the countless other women going through this. I also want to let the generation coming into this know what to expect. Being blindsided by the symptoms of perimenopause threw me for a loop that I hope to assist with.
I am not a doctor in any way, I am simply sharing my story and links I found helpful.
If you want to share your story, join our chat and let’s talk.
